Photographer's Note

This is the view from an apartment window in Manhattan. It is the Queensboro Bridge, also known as the 59th Street Bridge.

This cantilever bridge was completed in 1909 and it connects Manhattan with Queens (as you might have guessed from the name!). It has a walkway, and during the annual NYC marathon, the runners enter Manhattan via the Queensboro Bridge.

The tower in the foreground and the wires on the upper left are part of the tram system that goes to Roosevelt Island. After some mechanical problems, it has been shut down until further notice.
