Photographer's Note
A view of Grand Central Terminal and Chrysler building in Manhattan.
I was lucky to get a rare angle at these two NY icons; there was some canalisation reparation going on in the streets, so I guess I wouldn’t have been able to unfold my tripod in the middle of 42nd street in other circumstances.
It’s so frustrating when you travel somewhere in the hope to photograph this famous bridge or temple, only to discover that it’s covered with scaffolding... This time, reparation worked on my side.
Please note that the top of the spire is not blurred, but rather tone down by low clouds covering the city.

Bravo!

Excellent image - the colours are superb, you did very well getting this view of these two famous buildings. The low clouds that obscure the top of the Chrysler Building give it a kind of 'Gotham City' atmosphere.

Hello Andre.
Congratulations on your 100th post.
The contrasting tones really look great to me. The golden tones of the terminal set against the blue of the background really makes this shot pop...or have punch. Your perspective is excellent, quite original. Great combination of early art-deco and classic Greek/Roman stylings.
Regards,
Chris.

Happy 100! I like the way the different elements have been combined in this, to make an interesting photo. There is a good contrast between the color of the two buildings, one blue and the other a warm orange. Great work!

Congratulations for the 100th post, Andre. At least for this spectacular composition, the scaffolding doesn't bother at all ;-) The statue opening the arms to the most beautiful skyscrapper top in NYC, is a reaaly smart idea. Excellent management of the lighting. Love that diagonal.

Congrats on 100! I'm almost there as well.
I love the juxtaposition between the golden statues and the cool blue Chrysler building. Funny how the construction worked in your favor this time :-) You optimized the opertunity. Great shot.

Ah, two of my favorite NY landmarks in the same photo. Gosh, how I miss NY... I have a deep love for each one of these buildings. I spent some time in the Grand Central and took some of my first digital pictures there (nothing that I am proud...). It has a huge main hall, it's a railway terminal, always full of people... I have to go back! The Chrysler is simply the most beautiful building in the world. It's Art Deco spiral roof is just amazing. Took dozens of pictures of that roof... And you crafted all this over an electric blue foggy background. What more can I ask for? Congratulations on your 100th!

Hi Andrew. I really like the perspective, composition and contrasting colours in this shot.Super light too. Really well spotted to see this composition. The sculptured figure almost appears to be opening her arms to welcome the newer building.

Hi Andre!
Really your profile could be a copy/paste of mine, or mine of yours? Such an interesting coincidence! In my country there´s a saying for that, Good things are most! ;-)
I´ve looked your album, you have great pictures! but I wanted to choose one representatibe, and I chose this one, for the light, sharpness, and visual information offer us, but above all for its beauty and its depth, well seen and created!
By the way, many thanks for your comment about my Brugge picture!
Cheers!
Miguel
