The island of Maui is the second-largest of the Hawaiian Islands at 727 square miles (1883 km²). Maui is part of the State of Hawaiʻi and is the largest island in Maui County. Three other islands, Lānaʻi, Kahoʻolawe, and Molokaʻi belong to Maui County. As of 2005, Maui has a resident population of ~141,000, which is ranked third within the state behind the islands of Oahu and Hawaii.

Native Hawaiian tradition gives the origin of the island's name in the legend of Hawaiʻiloa, the Polynesian navigator attributed with discovery of the Hawaiian Islands. The story relates how he named the island of Maui after his son who in turn was named for the demigod Māui. According to legend, the demigod Māui raised all the Hawaiian Islands from the sea. The Island of Maui is also called the "Valley Isle" for the large fertile isthmus between its two volcanoes.

Muy bonita vista de estas montanas. La bruma da un aspecto mas interesante pues hace ver las montanas mas altas. Me gusta la vegetacion en estos lugares. Muy verde debido a la humedad constante. Bonita foto Elias. Me gusta mucho pues me recuerda de lugares similares en Centro America. Gracias :-)

Wow, I love it, Elias. I remember seeing some photo from here and I would love to visit the place by myself and be astonished by these beautiful and fluffy green peaks. Good POV and composition with very appealing colors. The mist in the back also gives a nice atmosphere, giving us the idea of being at cloud's level. Very good shot, my friend.

update- I would love to go along the edge of this cliff to the very top of the peak in the background and feel dizzy with the vertigo view from there. An image that excites me... :))

Huge mountains look amazing with misty sky. The green plants on the hills look like moss from this perspective. Beautiful Hawaii :)

Lush greens in Maui with the fog rolling into the scene. I've been here and have never seen a view quite like this anywhere else in the states. I can savor the coffee grown here too!

I do like the workshop even better. The close-up of the plant in the foreground is very important and the one thing lacking in the original.

I was curious to see where in the US this had been taken : wow, Hawaï !!! you are lucky to have travelled there, and you took a beautiful, "dramatic" view of the mountains in the fog !
