Photographer’s Note
This is the last one of my current series from New York. Not long after hearing the couple sing at Washington Square Park it started to tip down with rain and didn't stop long into the night. Not being prepared as the weather was beautiful earlier on.... I got soaked to the skin! This didn't stop me though from having one last look on Time Square and getting a shot of what it looks like after dark.
I thought this a suitable scene for "Umbrella" weather.

Clever shot David - I like how you captured this umbrella toting figure in front of the Mary Poppins billboards.
Your choice of exposure has worked well to capture the lights reflected on the rain-washed streets, and contributes to the atmosphere of the image.
The only thing I'm not so keen on is the perspective lean caused by pointing the camera upwards - perhaps you could have kept the camera level then cropped along the bottom if you'd ended up with too much foreground.
I don't think it matters too much though, and it doesn't get in the way of the atmosphere of the shot, which is the most important thing.
Cheers,
Ben

Hi David,
This is a mellow shot that really epitomizes much of the New York experience. I especially like the coppery look of the wet pavement as the rain falls. The exposure level is just right and there are interesting reflections and textures. Nicely done, David. Cheers.

A funny composition with these two umbrellas and a fairly god light thanks to all these neons. This give a very nice shining aspect to the wet pavement.
All the best,
Emmanuel
