Photographer’s Note
This is the newly refurbished Rexleigh Bridge reflecting smartly in the Battenkill River. Nearby are the ruins of an 19th century mill. The river is rather low due to very sparce rainfall in Aug. and Sept. Hanging from the bridge is a blue rope that the kids use to swing into the refreshing river. The Battenkill is one of the top trout streams in eastern New Yor.

Hi Tom,
I think I wrote before that I have a soft spot for these covered bridges. Here the bright red and the reflection are very nice. The blown-out highlight is a pity. I think this would look better on an overcast day. Still, a fine capture. Regards,
Hakan

Hi Tom,
Wonderfull colors, very nice pov and very well composed.
I think to have seen a similar covered (with similar colors) bridge some times ago. The nice reflection makes it perfect. And allaround good sharpness.
TFS and best regards

Hi Tom,
It puzzles me why do they cover the bridge? Anyway, nice reflections and the angle of your shot gives the bridge a good perspective. Well composed and good image quality. Well done! tfs

What an excellent corner you chose for this one, Tom. Fun to see the double in the river upside down. Oh yes, I can see the blue rope. I wouldn't mind a little swing myself but as a city kid I don't want to make my hair wet ... oh I am just joking. I love this deep red, so so nice. Have a great day, lunch time here, Barbara.

Bonjour Tom
le rouge de ce pont frappe dans cette nature luxuriante, le reflet dans l'eau est superbe, pas un seul frisson à la surface de l'eau, beau travail

Tom,
I like your POV here showing the bridge from and angle giving the shot direction. The reflection is great adding nice depth and balance to the photo. The river leads the eye through the photo and adds a nice diagonal to the shot. Your light management is very good here bringing out nice colors and sharpness.

Asa

This looks like something from a storybook. A beautiful bridge and I love the reflection. I also like the blue rope and the story that goes with that. Creating their childhood memories :) Very well done. TFS

Hello Tom,
Lovely light and colours for thisw composition. The newly painted bridge looks splendid under the blue sky, doubly so by reason of the reflection. TFS.

Hi Tom
That a nice picture of a covered bridge. Colors are great and the reflexion too. The angle gives a good view of the bridge.
Congratulations!

Hello Tom,
You talk about refurbished!
That colour is really eye-catching, shining as it is in the warm autumn sun...
I like the point of view from river level, and the addition of the blue rope is a nice touch!

Tom,
having a red subject in a photography is always an interesting element to use as a contrast, as an anchor, as an contrapoint or whatever. Here you got a hell of an anchor. With this huge red bridge and its reflection there is nothing else to look at. Wonderful eyecatcher for sure!

Excellent vivid colors and reflections. This red covered bridge looks very unusual and pleasantly contrasts with the forest autumn colors and the blue sky.

Hi Tom,
Lovely colors & beautiful reflection. Seems like this is a very widespead drought. I've never see Lake Shasta lower.
This must be the same bridge that you posted earlier.

Hello Tom,
very nice this insertion of red in the nature made of trees, water and blue sky; this mix of colors remembers me the Scandinavian Lands. Water is quite a mirror, well well done.

Hi Tom
A "double take" of a much appealing side!
It stands so proudly over its romantic reflexion.
Thanks to workers who brought back to life such a nostalgic icon.
Best regards.

Hi Tom!
I found this photo in your random pictures; so as you know my predilection for covered bridges, I decided to go through your whole gallery and add all your photos of the three covered bridges to my group theme. Thanks for allowing me to do so!
This is a perfect image you could almost turn upside down, the reflection being so clear!
The bright red is so beautiful against the greenery, the blue sky and water!
All the best!
Marie Louise.
