Why do birds in the northern hemisphere fly south in the fall?
Birds use both stars and the earth's magnetic field to navigate. At night, birds note that the stars seem to revolve around the pole star and they get their direction from that.

I like this shot a lot - beautiful colours and perfect silhouettes, and the composition you've chosen creates great feeling of wide open space usually associated with freedom. I guess this shot would be particularly powerful in a large-format print :) on a technical note - at least on this screen there seems to be some noise in the sky, and I'd also crop from the right to remove that one bird that's not entirely in the frame. but those are minor points.

Hi Jorge,
Never seen your pictures before but i saw all your comments on my Peru images, thank you for that. Nice to read that someone from Peru likes them.
Seeing this one i have to admit you are not doing bad yourself. This looks stunning with those birds flying to you in that fantastic light. Nice detail is the tree which makes a good balance in the picture.
The waves of orange clouds are really wonderful...like this one a lot.
