Photographer's Note

Here it is folks, my first image in color using a borrowed Canon Digital Rebel. This is the promenade running along the shoreline of San Francisco Bay in Tiburon to which I referred in the image I posted yesterday. Not shown, but to the right is a row of very expensive homes whose owners must contend with the fact this walkway is open to the public from sunrise to sunset. Not much privacy here, I'm afraid.

I hope the folks walking their dogs pick up after them... ;-)

In the distance on the left you see another area of Tiburon. Beyond that in the fog you can make out from left to right, Treasure Island, a former Navy base, Alcatraz, the infamous federal prison long ago abandoned, the Oakland Bay Bridge and the downtown San Francisco skyline. The pyramind of the Transamerica building is visible through the slowly dissipating fog as well as the dark mass of the Bank of America building. The couple walking along the path are being led by their two beagle dogs. I think the dogs decided to take their owners for a walk on this lovely Sunday afternoon.

I've learned quickly that the sensor and algorithm of the Canon create colors a bit different from either the Nikon or Sony with which I'm familiar. I like the colors rendered by this image very much. The processing was very straight forward with nothing out of the ordinary.

I hope you enjoy an afternoon by San Francisco Bay.
