Small Island
 |
|
| [Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe |
The southern end of Manhattan island, seen from a boat in New York harbour. Taken in the early morning with clear sky and no haze. Manhattan seems really small from this point of view!
I know that I have ignored most composition rules here by placing the horizon at the center line, but I somehow liked the effect. Another half-and-half shot like my previous one. |

Hello Oliver,
I agree with you, the composition you have selected increase the loneliness of the island and of the big buildings. Knowing what it looks like really, it is providing a strangeness effect which is the big interest of your shot.
Well done,
Yves.

Hi Oliver, this is certainly an original composition. Most images of NY seem to emphasize the largeness of it. I like this, the small buildings sandwiched between the large sky and the wide river. Colours & sharpness good too. Cheers, Steve
