[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
The west side of the Olympic National Park is the largest temperate rain forest in the US, and one of the finest in the world. There are many nooks and crannies to explore; one of the best of these is the Hoh River rain forest, particularly the Hall of Mosses, which, though a short trail, offers a fascinating and varied display.

This scene caught my eye: Two trees growing on top of a third, fallen, trunk, with their roots intertwined.

Technical: In RAW, raise Brightness +73, lower Contrast -1. In CS3, Curves, then Shadow/Higlighhts (brighten shadows +4), finishing with Hue/Saturation (Sat. +13, Lightness -7). Converted to sRGB.

Hello Dan,

This is interesting. I can see the two trees on top are properly anchored on the fallen trunk. Nice and well composed image. I had to look hard at first to understand what I was looking at. The colours and sharpness look great. Thanks Dan.

hi Dan,
there's something primeval about this scene, I guess this is how prehistoric Earth might have looked like when the proportion of CO2 in the air was much larger. I like it, especially the fascinating feelingit feels as if the trees have tentacles instead of roots and have just climbed out of the water :) superb textures and details too, very interesting shot.

regards,
Kristine
