OK, it's questionable whether pigeons - or any other animal and bird in New York City - rates a "nature" category. They have as much attitude as human New Yorkers, after all.
This was taken on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum in mid-afternoon (the exif data is in Pacific time), and the strong slanted light is common in New York at that time of day and year.
Technical: In RAW, set WB to daylight, with slightly lowered tint. Set Blacks to zero. |

Beautiful and unusual daily life scene, surely an original photo, with great tight framing and composition, excellent timing, too! I think that you missed the focus here a little bit, it seems to be on the shoes, but your great choice of aperture, left enough depth of field to leave this thing pass almost unnoticed. Great job, congratulations!
