[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
Still in the middle of our DC trip, I thought I would post this shot taken early this morning, since it looks good with minimal touches from PictureProject. (I'm on the road with a laptop that isn't powerful enough to run Photoshop.)

In front of the US Botanical Garden, which is just SW of the Capitol building, there is a set of large globes illustrating various problems and solutions facing our planet. This particular one is called "Share the Ride," and its theme is that one way to cut down global warming is to ride-share (also called car-share). The globe itself is covered with cars, many of them piled up on top of one another, as can be seen here.

I saw this as a chance to use photography to present some political commentary, by focusing on the pile of cars with the Capitol dome, out of focus, in the background. Too many of our legislators working under that dome are "out of focus" on the issue of global warming.

Technical: In PictureProject, raise brightness, slight color boost, and medium sharpness.

brilliant, creative, and thought provoking... thank you!

Dan,
Really good shot, would would grace any newspaper article on a related subject.
Well seen.
Regards
colin

Wonderful symbolism; well executed. You chose the perfect POV so there was no overlap of the sculpture and the Capitol dome. (more symbolism?) We also see some spider's webs. I wonder if there is significance in that. ;D

Bonjour Daniel,
Best regards.
Daniel.

hi Dan,
I'm surprised I missed this photo, I like a lot the unusual approach to photographing the Capitol. its immediately recognizable shape works well as a "political background" to this pile of cars, and I particularly like the cobwebs that adds to the symbolism of the photo. interesting work, I like it.

best,
Kristine
