Not Your Typical White House Shot
 |
|
| [Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe |
Everybody takes standard tourist shots of the major sites in Washington; I wanted to do something different. So I took this one, of the northeast entrance to the White House, at 5:45 in the morning. The only light on the scene is a street lamp just outside the frame on the upper right. I leaned against a pillar to steady this shot.
And much as I detest the current resident of the building (as does 80% of the US), I wanted to express something of the beauty of the structure and the grounds, so I went for that rather than a political statement.
Technical: Minor cropping, raise Brightness. Small Small Sharpen adjustment. |

Hi Daniel,
really a interesting shot this, I´d like of movemment of flags in picture and low light. Great work.
Congratulations and Hug
It was still dark at 5:45!? The street lamp did a sterling job of illuminating the podium and parts of the railings, although it is a bit too central for my taste. The flags blowing in the wind are a perfect accompaniment to the scene.
I have yet to hear from an American who admits to supporting Bush.

Hi Daniel
This is defintely a different shot but nicely done. My only comment is that if you had moved to the left a bit to eliminate the bright light in the BG it would not compete with your subject.

As long as it doesn't resemble anything of these idiotic, clean as a whistle postcards from ANY famous place on earth - I'm with you all the way, Dan...
Make it dark, of fuzzy, or blurred or flipped upside down...
As long as I can see the work of a brain rather than electronic sensor - it's OK with me...
Run fast, man... Don't let them catch you...
