Salut André,
Je suis bien d'accord avec toi. Le vote de la jeunesse: 2/3 des moins de 30 ans... Il était temps que l'Amérique élise un président pour nous sortir des divisions et des guerres inutiles.
Il n'aura pas facile et j'espère que son mandat sera plus long que celui de JFK.

I hope so...! Une page d'histoire se tourne et tu as choisis une belle image pour l'illustrer, avec ces tons roses orangés, chauds et bien saturés, qui enflamment le ciel, et la silhouette d'un homme tronant avec majesté au coeur de la maison des espoirs... Une manière de dire qu'on peut voir la vie en rose, à présent?

Hi André,

A beautiful image of my favorite of the monuments in Washington, D.C. I have been here many times but I most remember the awe with which I was struck as a child viewing this on a family trip. The technicals are perfect in this image. More importantly, this one oozes with symbolism from your subject choice to the blurred reflections in the reflecting pool. What will the future bring? Perhaps President Obama's journey began with this man and the trials he faced while serving in that difficult office. Maybe one chapter has ended while another begins? I for one am quite proud of my country for this milestone event in history.

A grand jour, grande photo très pure et très nette. J'espère que sa pureté inspirera le nouveau président. Que je suis heureux que Barack Obama soit élu. Et que Bush, qui exprime par dessus tout l'arrogance américaine, aille au diable.

Là j'ai appris quelquechose. Je ne savais pas que son deuxième prénom était Hussein. Cela me fait rire car W passait son temps à chasser un autre Hussein...
Ton image est vraiment magnifique car la statue se détache si bien, les couleurs sont si belles et le reflet comme une peinture. Les nuages sont une touche formidable.
Seul truc: j'ai un peu de la peine pour être d'accord avec les 4 derniers mots de ta note. Pour moi il n'y a aucun pays qui mérite cette distinction.

Salut Andre,

Je vois que tu avais gardé une petite vue en reserve de ce beau matin. Les couleurs sont superbes et l exposition impressionante. On voit tres bien la statue de Lincoln et elle est bien exposée. En relief avec la guerre de secession et l esclavage, c est une bonne photo symbolique pour saluer l election d Obama.
Reste maintenant a verifier que le symbole sera a la hauteur des esperances.

Your serie from the latest US trip was a great one when i look at all those images you made from there. They all are dedicated to the bone in being there at the right moment...great timing, but most of all dedication in being there. Of course the gear plays an important role, camera and lens are superb, but means nothing when you don't go out early to make this shot and all the others.
A nice contribution to the elections from last night, let's hope this man can repair some things what that fool Bush in 8 years destroyed..!!!

quelle belle photo!Un savant mélange de force et de douceur!Force dans le sujet,douceur dans la présentation,que ce soient les couleurs ou le reflet!C'est tout simplement splendide!En ce qui concerne Obama,j'èspère qu'il aura la possibilité d'être à la hauteur de ce que le monde entier attend de lui,la charge est lourde!

WOW!!!! I mean, I stayed up the whole night to watch the elections and therefore I`m more than happy that they voted Obama, and I see you`re too. And this is THE shot to celebrate this, this is amazing, I love your work and this is truly outstanding! What a shot, I wish I could be able to do that...
Very, very good work, I like it a lot! And the title of course, it fits perfectly and is one of my favorite Pink Floyd songs of all time!

Very well said Andre, (and taken!), a photo of this memorial is a very fitting tribute the occasion. As late as last week, I did not think it was possible.

PS - I'm trying to shoot L+RAW, so far I used it only for the "most promising" opportunities, not for all shots, but still have not had a chance to process any of them, I've been super busy at work the last few weeks, and leave again tomorrow (to southwest USA, not Guatemala & El Salvador, I cancelled the ticket because of incredible crime reports happening there lately)

Bonjour, André. Les couleurs dans le ciel et les reflets sont superbes. Le bâtiment se détache bien des silhouettes grâce à sa couleur dorée. Une composition d'une grande symétrie, ce qui donne une photo très équilibrée.

The world will be a better place to live with any other president than the current one... Then again, I also do have high hopes for Obama. But high hopes are dangerous as well, since Obama needs to live up to an awful lot of high hopes....
