Photographer's Note
Silverton is an old mining town in the desert west of Broken Hill in the far west of New South Wales. It was a ghost town but has always been popular with photographers and artists. In recent years there has been a sort of "boom" and a couple of new buildings have actually been built.
Its "rise" to fame was helped by the Mad Max series of movies (1979, 81 and 85) which still have quite a following. A planned 4th movie is in the planning but they can't film it at Silverton because there has been too much rain and the country is too green.
Near the pub (on one of the "main" streets) you will notice some strange looking vehicles - all modelled on the ones used in the movies.

Hi Ian,
I initially was going to critique that this looks a lot like Australia. Then I noticed it IS Australia! The red soil contrasts well against the blue sky & the Aussie flag far left adds context. I might have cropped either the sky, fg, or even both, to give a wider angled shot. Tfs!
