Photographer’s Note
ENGLISH: I must apologise for bombarding you with photos of this fountain, the Archibald Fountain, Hyde Park Sydney. It fascinates me, but I promise this will be the last of the series.
I have entitled the photo "Cardinal Pell Wrestling Satan" as that is who I thought it was when I first shot it :) Cardinal Pell is the Catholic Cardinal of Sydney and I'll probably go straight to Hell for naming it thus - or at least be sued for defamation. Four Hail Marys.
This sculpture is actually one-quarter of the Archibald Fountain and is entitled "Theseus Slaying the Minotaur" by the French sculptor Francois Sicard. The Archibald Fountain was unveiled in 1932 by Sydney's Lord Mayor. It is arguably one of Australia's most beautiful fountains.

Hello Lisa,
Hope you are still in the land of the living ;-) I is a very good night time capture of this most impressive fountain. A like the point of view that allows the eyes to move easily across the frame from the sculpture to the wonderfully captured water spouts. I like the overall tones, which almost verge on the sepia and bring a sense of nostalgia. Very good exposure control as always with your images. Thanks for sharing.
As you say, half way through the week now, but when you are retired like me, one day just seems to merge into the next :-) Take care.

A great title considering where the local cathedral is Lisa and given that clichéd saying "hell on earth" you're already there.
What I love about this photo isn't so much the sculptures at the front but the clear trunks of the trees in the background light - fabulous.
cheers

Oh Lisa,
This is a long-exposure masterpiece! Can't decide whether the fan-shaped streams of water look more like a peacock's tail or an Indian head-dress, but they are beautiful, with the wall of mist created behind it! Great composition and a wonderful light. Congratulations! Dasha

Hi Lisa,
No problem, I think this version is the best one. Action scene of the statue is well presented. The fan of water looks impressive with this long exposure. And exposure is well in control, only the actual lamp lights are overexposed.
I wonder about the color management, this looks monochromatic, but there are green tones on the tree leafs.

Hello Lisa,
MAGNIFIQUE !!!! la longue pose qui donne a l'eau cet effet vaporeux, le cadrage très étudié et abouti est parfait. La teinte générale est très esthétique.

Ciao Lisa,
spettacolare l'effetto grafico ottenuto dagli spruzzi d'acqua.
Sembra l'esplosione di un fuoco d'artificio.
Eccellente resa cromatica e sharp!
Un abbraccio!

Hi Lisa,
I think you are the only Aussie TE member who entertain us with long exposure night shots which are all superbly executed. These definitely let us see things from a different perspective which we dont normally see with our naked eyes.
I imagine this one as a painting on a black canvas, and you filled up the frame beautifully with the well illuminated scultures and fountain. The reflection of light from the uneven surface of the bronze sculture is particularly interesting, so clear and detailed.
Cheers

Ciao Lisa,
this golden dream is a fantastic picture. I like this POV and the very good exposure. An i think for this no one have to go to hell.;-)))
It is amusing, that i have a few weeks ago taken a picture from a sculpture with the same theme, but a completely other variation. I think i will post you this the next days.
Have a great day

HI Lisa
Night image quality is good but I wish you had used a wider framing here, I'd prefer the fountain to appear in full
have a nice day JY

Is the Cardinal aware he is exposed?
A photograph very well executed and presented.
Just to make sure, you should add a few more Hail Marys.

WOWWWW, Lisa,
Bravissima!!
Felice giornata

Hi Lisa,
I like the duotone quality of this shot, though it is in full colors. Love the long exposure that gives the water from the silky smooth texture. Great sharpness and clarity for a night shot and a beautiful composition. Excellent. You are getting really good with night shot. Night shot is not my stongest skill.

Hi Lisa,
as far as I'm concerned, there is no need to stop showing us the wonderful shots of this series. But you better start on those Hail Mary's! ;-))
Fantastic water and a perfect capture of the light here! Terrific shot!! And Cardinal Pell, aka Theseus, has a body only a sculpture can have - but nice to look at!
Hugs!

lol, Lisa, how are those Hail Marys coming? :)
and I don't mind being bombarded with photos like this, I've always thought that there are certain things that are more interesting at night, fountains being the best example. love how the water has created a floer-like pattern, just the right background to add contrast to the dramatic fight of the sculptures. one thing I'd do is to clone away that shining tower in the distance on the right, it's a bit distracting, but that's not a major point.
best,
Kristine
p.s. and when are you coming to that rooftop in Manhattan? when it again gets warm enough to have there our morning coffee? :)

Hi Lisa!
This is really good! I like it a lot, the exposure, the composition with the sculpture in foreground and then the water jets in background, creating a great effect. Good format also!
