Photographer’s Note
A few days ago we were in Newcastle having lunch on the harbour foreshore. I grabbed a few shots of the harbour and foreshore area. The www.thing.com.au tells me that "Newcastle is built around a large working harbour. The adjacent Harbour Foreshore has undergone stunning changes in recent years and is now a focal point for recreation in the Hunter. A place where children can be entertained and adults can enjoy or dine at a fine restaurant with unsurpassed views. Photograph a ship that seems to pass within armslength as you imbibe the atmosphere in a harbour café".
I must say the view and food was 'Mint Slice - Very Nice'
Cheers :))

Hi Graham,
I love the wonderful light and blue tones here. The harbour looks pretty and I love the depth as the image shows the headland in the distance, making this a nice composition.

Hi Graham,
Newcastle has never looked this good, clear skies (no brown haze from the steel mill) blue water and an interesting composition.
Looks like you were sampling one of the water front eateries.
Cheers

The changes in Newcastle in recent years are amazing and this show off the changes really well Graham. The foreground is a bit in you face but it does work in directing you to the distant sights.
cheers

Hi Graham, I hope you ate more than a Mint Slice in this swanky place! Great blue tones and I like the symmetrical effect of the piers, the pontoon thingies out in the water and the lights. The DOF is also excellent and I love all that blue. Jeez you get around too! Have a good one, am onto my second cuppa already, Lisa

Hi Graham.
Must be the first shot I've ever seen on TE of Newcastle. I like the way you composed it, making great use of the various poles to create strong perspective. The colour rendition and sharpness look great. I'm wondering what that large structure is, on top of the hill in the background across the water.
Regards,
Andrew
