Photographer's Note
In the north west of Victoria is the large Murray-Sunset National Park. In the south of the park off the Mallee Highway is an group of 4 pink lakes - pink from red algae on the bottom of the lakes. The lakes are very salty and often dry. This lake is Hardy Lake.
At least one of the lakes has been mined for salt in the past.
The best colour is supposed to be after rain and under an overcaste sky - conditions that we had, although the lakes weren't as pink as there were on a previous visit.

Hi Ian,
This is an unusual color for a lake but it looks great. Nice catch, have a great evening.

Ciao dear Ian, how are you?
beautiful and interesting image of this amazing pink lake. It seems that the sky and the lake have exchanged the colors! Excellent choice of the POV that contributes to a large and pleasant depth to the image. Excellent shot, congratulations!
Ciao, have a nice Sunday!
Paolo
