Look, the Ghan is about to leave ... (2)

The Ghan is a passenger train operating between Adelaide and Darwin (passing through Alice Springs).
The Ghan, it's an odd name for a train but in Australian history it is a living legend.
The service's name is an abbreviated version of its previous nickname The Afghan Express,
which comes from the Afghan camel trains that trekked the same route before the advent
of the railway.

The journey by the train is a dream for many people, not only from Australia and
takes 48 hours to travel the 2,979 kilometres.

...

Boarding The Ghan in Adelaide or Darwin, experience one of the most fascinating great train journeys of the world.
