Photographer's Note

I hope this photo is acceptable on TE but here goes.
As you cruise through Geikie Gorge near Fitzroy Crossing in the Kimberleys you do see a bit of wildlife. For these 2 the settings weren't brilliant so I've done a composite photo. They were both out enjoying the sun.
The top beast isn't as bad as it looks - it is a fresh water crocodile, over 2 metres in length, so an adult. They don't come much bigger. They are much smaller that the more infamous salt water variety and don't attack people but people still give them plenty of space. if approached they quickly dive into the water.
The lower one is what is commonly called in Australia a goanna but that covers a variety of related giant monitors. This one is metre long water monitor (possibly Mertens')and so would be an adult as well.
