Trip to Tasmania – Day 6
Hobart to Tasman National Park and Port Arthur Historic Site – 100km along the Arthur Highway.
This is the beginning of another exhausting day. Driving in early morning (7:30am) was quite enjoyable as the sun was dissipating the fog in the valleys and warming up the atmosphere for a great day.
The plan was for another sea tour in the morning, this time around the east coast of Tasman Peninsula, and a visit to Port Arthur in the afternoon.
The boat tour departed from Eaglehawk Neck and went along the east coast of the peninsula, passing by O’Hara Bluff (main Posting), Cape Hauy (
WS1), the Candlestick (WS2), Cathedral Rock, Cape Pillar, Tasman Island and Port Arthur.

Hello Antonio,
That is a beautiful but rugged and inhospitable coastline, I'm surprised the tour boat took you so close, there must have been a small ocean swell running.
I like your use of the CPL it has worked perfectly on the sky. With your WS2 I saw that on a channel nine show a couple of weeks ago it was called "You Saved My Life". It was a bout a couple that were climbing the central pillar of rock when a piece of rock broke off and hit the male climber on the head, he wasn't wearing his helmut at the time and he would have died if it hadn't been for the quick thinking of his girlfriend.
I'm enjoying your trip to Tasmania with you, tfs.
Regards
Peter

I Antonio.
Very impressive view of this rugged looking coastline, catching some glancing sunlight amidst the shadowy part of the cliffs and those wispy clouds of summer in the nicely polarised sky. I haven't been to Tasmania for about 30 years, but your shots are making me think seriously of another visit.

Andrew

Dear Antonio
Tasmania looks to be worth spending time there, especially when looking at your pictures. The bold as well as dramatic riff holding back the angry sea sets a very good contrast to the blue sky. Great sharpness, vivid color and perfect DOF. Congrats

Bom domingo!

Hi Antonio
Nice dramatic coastline under a fine blue sky, the view shortens a bit fast on the left, maybe a second image and a stitch would have served you better
Have a nice day JY

Wild and beautiful country along that part Tasmanian coast Antonio. Great composition and colour. The WS photos add to the drama of the area - I hope that you're not one for sea sickness.

Hello Antonio,
yes - great rugged cliffs. This looks like a rough ride.
'I wonder how you have managed to catch the blowhole effect here an a almost levelled horizon. As you are a native portugese this might be a dumb question - sorry, jut in case! TFS

Through your camera lens it's been a vicarious experience seeing the diametrically opposite point on the globe from my own. I always had the mistaken view that Tasmania was a flat island. This is rugged terrain of hills and mountains, and judging by the strata, of very old rock. In the tectonic migration of Australia from the ancient Pangae some 200 million years ago, Tasmania must have come along, rather than emerge much later from the sea floor.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Beautiful view of these rugged cliffs linning the shores.
Lovely blue sky with just a hint of lingering fog. The blue of the sea and sky is quite striking.

Hi Antonio, how are you, long time no speak, I've been away. Beautiful shot here, this Tasmanian series of yours is giving me itchy feet already. You've done well with this shot: great exposure, saturation and most of all - steady hands - as I know taking shots from a boat in rough water isn;t the easiest thing to achieve. Excellent work, TFs, Lisa.

Ola Antonio,
You're my kind of traveler with your many boat tours! You really captured beautiful blue sky and sea. We visited in early spring and encountered snow coming over Cradle Mountain from Port McQuarie back towards Hobart.
