Photographer’s Note

This was one of the last shots I took on Sorrento. I've entitled it Black n Blue for obvious reasons and dedicate it to my friend from Telc Dasha who yesterday was feeling a bit blue. I hope today is better for you :)

Feeling much better already ;-) Plus, today is a national holiday for us (independence from the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1918), so we have the day off!!!

Hi Lisa,
Dark silhouette bring Rorschach inkblot test to mind. Deep blue scene is beautiful and in some way melancholic. Long exposure shows motion of clouds well.

hai postato una foto di difficilissima esecuzione con tempi pazzeschi, ma ne valeva la pena: Un'esplosione di blu denso, che a causa dei tempi lunghi evidenzia il movimento delle nuvole.Splendide e quasi parlanti le sagome delle rocce in controluce, magnifici i riflessi.

Hi Lisa,
I was just going to ask but I already see the answer below, you used 5D. You see with 450D over 5 seconds makes such an incredible noise that I have to be careful. I loved longer exposure times when I used analog camera and now I have to change my habits and favorite settings (or camera but it won't happen anytime soon).
This piece of work is fantastic. No words can really give it a justice. The light or the lack of it is beautiful, the exposure perfect, colors as well.
I always wonder how people manage to make such fantastic compositions at night? I have to shoot at blue hour not only because it is pretty but also because at night especially in the nature I don't see anything. So I admire your composition. The shapes of rocks are amazing, very carefully chosen with perfect reflection. The water surface is the best it can be giving great reflection but also having some irregular items standing out of the water which gives a point of reference. The moving clouds in contrast to sharp and steady rocks make a great effect.
It is a brilliant work

A very nice light painting in the darkness, the highligts on the blue hues and the dynamism of the clouds resulting from the long exposure complement very well the dramatic coastline, I like it a lot !

Hi Lisa,
Looking at this scared me to think that it was this dark when you braved yourself to be there alone. Even I would have been tempted to harrass you if I were there;)). But the risk seems well worth it. The silhouette of the black rocks and their reflection is superb, the long exposure makes the clouds to appear like racing over you. The photo looks so pure.

Hi Lisa,
This is quite a contrary to my warm gold and red image, you're is black and blue. This is almost like a due tone, but better with some warm tone to spice it a little bit. I love the simulation of the moving cloud enhance by the slow shutter speed. Beautiful tone and very moody shot with good composition. I really enjoyed it. Thanks G'day.

now THIS is really great, love the cosmic mood and fast-moving clouds, and how the curve on the right adds depth to the scene. the touch of purple near the horizon is just the right accent in this sea of blue, great shot.

tu hai fatto veramente un capolavoro di bellezza e tecnica fotografica. Il blu è il mio colore preferito, anche perchè è uno dei colori della tranquillità e della calma, per cui questa stupenda immagine mi fa maggiormente piacere. Solo una brava fotografa può fare una fotografia così suggestiva e piacevole, una bella dimostrazione della tua bravura e del tuo senso artistico. Sinceri complimenti!

There are many beautiful landscapes in Australia, much more then we think, I would say ...
However I don't like landscape photographs (I prefer a real ones ...) this photograph look interesting and quite unusual (maybe because of uncommon colors on it).
I like it, I really like it, because it welcomes me to visiting this place
