Wineglass bay lies within the Frycinet National Park and can be viewed from Mt Amos. This image was taken at the first stop on the walk up. I didn't go further.

Wineglass bay got its name from the colour of the water, which turned red in the 1820s when whaling stations were established there and the water was polluted with blood and blubber.

Hi Steve. Wonderful view and well captured. I love the play of light and shadow over the hills. Excellent colours and details also. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Hello Stephen,

Very pleasant blue waters you got here!
Wineglass bay. I was thinking about a much more romantic explanation for the name ;-). But some beautiful nature you got over there! Thanks for sharing it with us.

Greetings,
Dennis

Hi Stephen,

stunning view, wide and beautiful, I would prefer a smaller frame though to see more of it ... The name is quite somber, not to think about looking at the marvellous view.
Thanks for sharing

Hello Stephen, great place and view! Excellent photo job!

TFS and regards,

Hi Stephen
Gorgeous place although I never new the real history behind the name. So gruesome. I thought it was just the shape of the bay. I like the play of light and shadow in the foreground. The format's unusual but works well.

Nikki
