TE member shoots boatshed!
 |
|
| [Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe |
Ex-pat Canadian and TE member John Plumb (member name 'JPlumb') visited Perth from Sydney for a few days, and I had the pleasure of catching up with John and giving him a quick 'Royal Tour' of the city: high on John's "must see" list was the often photographed boatshed, on the Swan River at Matilda Bay, Crawley.
John was also keen on getting 'up close and personal' with a darter (just visible on the pier - and that's JP in the red jacket!), using my borrowed Nikon 70-300 VR lens: I'm looking forward to seeing the results! |

Hello Jeff,
You even make a dull, windy day with flat light look good. Does the boatshed face E/W or N/S.
Cheers
Peter
nice, contrasty shot :)
The blue shed and red jacket make nice counterpoints.

Hi Jeff, this is a bit of a surprise, and a little flattering. I never expected to be modeling this bright red coat of mine on TE. It works well with the rest of the scene, tying into the red in the flowers up front and setting up a nice contrast with that great blue sky, water and boathouse. The green seen in the brush helps complete the RGB mix. It's well composed, with very good lighting and textures. I remember that day being very "grey", yet you've done a great job of pulling out the detail.
I got a few decent shots from this day. I hope to post these someday, but still have a few things to do before I get settled, and start re-posting.
Thanks, John
