Carving at the gaffel of the wharehui (meeting-hall) at Rotowhio Marae in the Whakarewarewa Thermal Valley. This is a centre of the culture of Maoris. The Maori, the idigenous people of New Zealand, try to preserve their culture by running a carving-school and a weaving-school at this place.
