Bringing in the harvest II Photo

Photographer’s Note

Hi all. I’ve been a little busy lately so it’s been a while since I’ve posted a photo. I also haven’t been anywhere special so this is from around home.
The crops have been harvested and are stored away for the winter and this is one of the trucks that bought it in. Taken just before sunset this truck returns for another load from the harvester in the field.
In WS a couple of photos showing the harvester at work.

This one is surely a coming home scene of the truck picking up dust on the dirt country road. Very good use of light+shadow effect and a well composed view, although I would look for a little brightness which is difficult at this hour of day. Good work.

Hi Paul,
I guess that it would be a much less interesting photo if it wasn't for the light management and the well thought framing. I like the use of the very long focal and the strange atmosphere created by the sun glowing in the dust created by the truck, which reminds a furious mechanical beast that is about to blow out the fence.

Hi Paul,

Good to be back here and enjoy your images. This is an interesting image. Definitely a lot of dust behind the truck though! The framing of the truck and its red colour stand out in this view. Good work and a good weekend to you :-)

There is a good dynamic effect in this capture, in which you have caught the movement of the truck by means of the dust that raises in the road.
The weak light, the silhouettes of the trees, the dusty cloud, and the soft tones work very well in the composition.

I really love the harvest sequence. The light here is lovely and you framed the truck well with the trees and your front gate. I was so entranced by the picture with the mountain in the BG that I played with it abit - I know playionbg with a WS picture is quite Kosher. If it bugs you, I'll be glad to take it down.

Well, life is not all about fun and travelling and photographing, we do have to eat and stay warm so, work is must, and I understand that we all have to be away from TE time and again. As for this photo, a good daily life image, I like that you show it in the very beautiful mood of the evening. The workshops are really impressive as well with the harvest and mountain view. Paul, this is a really fine shot, it is alive and in motion I think, he dust and the angle of the truck, maybe in a turn, is really well realized. Colors are all about hot and sweaty and work, you have done a great job on this one. The work shops also add to the overall.

C'est une photo reportage sur le travail des moissons bien complétée par les photos en WS. Ici c'est un contre-jour sur la camion avec une aura de poussière éclairée par les derniers rayons de soleil.

I love the atmosphere you have captured here. The sunset light and colours somehow symbolises the harvest. The dust from the lorry adds a wonderful atmosphere. The extra images in the WS are very welcome for the harvest story.

Hi Paul,
these are different dimensions than those I am used to in my small place of the world! One can really see that agriculture in NZL is producing a market effect. I like the busy atmosphere very much! TFS!

The special lights and the whipped dust provide a mystic atmosphere to the photo. The trees by which the lorry is framed beautiful, the composition is spectacular. The soft lights add a lot to the mood likewise. Splendid daily life shot. Have a nice Sunday!

The dust thrown by the truck adds to the picture significantly. Like the soft pastel colours of sundown. The WS posts of harvesting are interesting as well. Good overall package!

Interesting light situation, where the backlight serves to outline the truck!
The subject is also nicely framed by the trees, so I will say the moment is well captured..........
The colour tones definitely add a feeling of autumn..!
