Photographer’s Note

Hi all.
The sun has finally made an appearance this week and what a difference that makes! This is the first anticyclone to pass over the country for six weeks!! Everything in the garden is in the race to outgrow everything else and the blooms are coming thick and fast too.
These were all taken in the limited time I have after work before it gets dark in the evening and were all taken in our garden.
Also today is Daffodil Day. A fundraising day in aid of the Caner Society. And Monday is the first official day of spring.

PS I’ll have to spend my weekends pushing the lawnmower around for a couple of months now ;-(.

Hello Paul,

Each ones of these pictures could have been a post by itself. There is a good management of the lightning to give a soft ambiance and to isolate the flower in order we can focus on all its details.

While here end of summer in Belgium, get you the springtime, I hope that you get, a lot anticyclone than you have excellent weather.

Great composite photo, Paul. This reminds me of my stamp collecting days. Although quite a few of these would make a good photo in their own right, your idea works well here and really fills the frame with a riot of colours and shapes. Visually very pleasing.

Lovely images of spring, I'd like to see several as an individual post. I particularly like the translucence of the daffodil and the fruit blossoms. I'd love to know the name of the red blossoms and that last photo with the light and shadows really needs more space too.

Neat montage. Lovely colouring in the images. I have done these too, but am always unhappy with the abrupt edges between the images. Have never taken the time to learn how to blur and blend the edges to give a more "integrated" feel to the final composite image.
