Photographer's Note

Yes, I do love the New Zealanders, a friendly, warm hearted people, generous of spirit. I have traveled to many lands and the New Zealander would have to be one of the most welcoming of them all.
The photo was taken on St Patrick's day in Christchurch. There was no official celebration and parade. Definitely next year, I was told by these two young ladies.
Their smiles reminded me of a poem I read on a wall regarding the community spirit in that city:

Amongst the shards of glass
and twisted steel,
Beside the fallen brick
and scattered concrete,
We began to understand
That there is beauty in the broken-
Strangers do not live here anymore

Kristy Dunn

In workshop I enclose the mural and the said poem.
