Photographer’s Note
Akaroa is about one and a half hours from Christchurch, perfect for a day trip. The town is a small. It was first settled by the French. Akaroa, situated within one of the many bays of Banks Peninsula. Here the scenery is brilliant, and the short drive is definitely worth it. One of the main attractions in Akaroa is a ferry that heads out towards the mouth of the bay, into the Pacific Ocean. On most occasions, a pod of bottle-nosed dolphins will swim along side the boat. Other wildlife can be viewed from here also, such as the blue penguins that can be scattered along the shoreline. Unfortunately the day we travelled there, there were no dolphins, but the water is amazingly blue in colour.

Hi Greg. A nicely compact image with lots to see. Great variety of greens and the blue of the sea really stands out. Maybe increasing the ISO would have allowed you to play around with exposure more and increased your DOF and hence sharpness. As is, it looks as if you might have over sharpened the image in PP Judging by the vegetation covering the base of the lighthouse. Regards. Klaudio.

Great lighting for the shot. It really makes the lighthouse stand out.
Welcome to Trekearth. Ardnajela
