Photographer’s Note
Hi all. This shot was taken at “The Craters of the Moon” and shows the steam coming from within the ground that is typical of this region. The geothermal park that is The Craters of the Moon is just north of Lake Taupo and is a low cost and relaxed alternative to the major tourist attractions of the Rotorua area but of course its not quite as spectacular and those wanting the ultimate volcanic experience would be better off visiting one of the bigger name attractions.
The day we visited we had great weather, just perfect for a relaxed wander around the hot spots and bubbling mud pools.
Enjoy, Paul.
PS My latest intro photo was taken here.

Hello Paul,
It is fun because I posted similar shot taken in Iceland. I am surprised to notice how similar it is.
I like the composition with the wood track drives the look to the guy well visible against the hot water fog. The background just behind gives the scale of the place.
A photo very well managed,
Yves.

Hi Paul,
That path works well as a lead in to the picture. It's amazing place. Silhouette of a man looks nice against steam. And hills behind close the scene well.

Thye pathway creates a leading line to the geothermic activity. I like the inclusion of the one person for spatial reference. I was just at Craters of the Moon National Monument in Idaho but they don't have the geysers etc. For that one needs to drive another day to Yellowstone.
