Hi Paul, this is a good shot of this walk in the woods. You've done a good job on the composition, and that is tough with the height of the trees and narrow path. I know, I've got a few myself that I kind of struggled with. The stitching was probably a very good idea here. It looks good. Your lighting is good, with very good definition in the shadow areas, and great natural colour throughout.

This is a great posting.
I love the way the shadows and light criss cross their way across the path, making it both interesting and secretive. The eyes cannot resist following your lead in line!

there is a high risk of being deleted of you put yourself in the frame (take your shoes ;-)
But anyway, I think wide enough for one person and not more is the space of the path. Good stitch and wonderful play of light there. Impressing trees.

I do love your shots of trails into trees. I thought this one is the best so far; then I read that it is a stitch of 3 photos and suddenly the scale changes. You get a lot more detail in such a photo. I guess it's a little wide to post the large version - I wonder, can one post vertical panos?? Don't think I've seen them on TE>

Hi Paul,

The New Zealand landscape has gained reputation after the films of Tolkien’s Lords of the ring. I read the book many, many years ago and this path through the forest reminds me to the region of the elves.

I take your point about the scale as if you needed 3 images it must be a lot bigger than it looks. Exposure is not easy in forest shots but you have managed that very well; 3 times too! Good work

Nice effort Paul, I have been trying to get the exposure for this type of setting right, and now at least I know it can be done. Colors and shadows are nicely mixed and the detail is awesome.

Lovely play of shadows & light especially on the path between the trees. I suspect this picture would have very high pixels & sharpness/resolution has suffered by downsizing. Stitching is excellently done & exposure control well done. Good work!

Paul,
a simple and yet very nice and good shot. The trail slightly off center improves the composition even more and I'm quite delighted to see how well you managed the light here so well. It would have been easy to get overexposed and underexposed parts in this image. The range is extremely wide and yet you did it perfectly.
