These are the colours and textures of my country. It is a sight that makes me sad as this is not the way my country should be. Yes, there has always been drought and flood. But with global warming, over-farming and out of control mining, this sight is becoming more common. This photo was taken in Lake Mungo National Park. It had not rained for a year.

Interesantan pogled, dobar tekst ...
Dobar rad, lepo pokazana suva, ispucana zemlja, dobar kontrast i ostrina. Klima se mnogo promenila, poplave i suse nas opominju da cuvamo prirodu.
Lepo popodne i sve najbolje u novoj nedelji koja je pocela, srecno.
An interesting view, good text ...
Good work, nice shown dry, cracked earth, good contrast and sharpness. Air changed much, floods and droughts remind us that we save nature.
Nice afternoon and all the best for the new week, which began, good luck.

Ciao dear Lisa, What a sad note and picture when you know how this land looked liked before. Interesting texture of the dry earth.
Kind regrads MAlgo

Your picture made me post a reply picture. The link I wanted to include doesn't seem to work, but I'm sure you'll be able to find it.
Hope is in little details.
I just wish we could send some of our rain.

A sad reminder of global warning but an excellent subject for the photographer. Excellent rendering of the burnt orange tones and the textural detail. A fine documentary composition.

Thought evoking and the land is clearly crying out, what a disaster due lack of water can be.........
Stark & harsh; The drought has hit hard here and there a stark reminder of the conditions in many parts of the world at present. Wonderful textures and fissures of cracked mud - the natural jigsaw puzzle and like the feeling of depth also a nice array of patterns!
A very good simple composition probably the most minimal photo, but the message comes across loud and clear with great impact. Like your train of taught, well spotted and presented. Congrats

Hello Lisa ,
We often see this kind of picture to illuistrate the severe droughts .
But this is a very natural effect , that can be seen after heavy rainfalls , followed by hot periods .
This is allways a good subject , for the graphism , and here , the red color .

This could be seen as a beautiful, simple composition, but of course it is anything but beautiful. Even in Sweden, where we are supposed to have an abundance of water, some areas are getting dryer because of less rain in recent years. There may be severe rationing of water in the worst hit areas this summer. As long as many leading politicians are still denying global warming the future looks dark. We can only hope they will all wake up.

The cracks in the ground make a beautiful pattern in the brown colours, but it is of course a sad fact that the drought has been so bad recently. Hopefully the country will get some rain again soon.

The damage to the land is definitely sad, but it photographs well. Looking at all the different cracks is mesmerizing, and the color is rich and vibrant. Will this be the fate of our entire planet? Without your note, the mind can create many ideas of what we are looking at in this frame. I see the ground, a wall, and maybe even another world.
