Brisbane's iconic landmark the "Story Bridge" is illuminated with colours

Typically each lighting display on the bridge is to commemorate a special day in history, raise awareness for charities and showcase upcoming events. Some past displays have been in support of Christmas, Cancer Council Queensland’s Daffodil Day, Braveheart’s White Balloon Day and New Year’s Eve

The green lit bridge shown is in preparation of the celebrate of 140 Years of EKKA.

The Royal Queensland Show, or EKKA, began in 1876, and is now Queensland's most celebrated event, bringing visitors from all across Queensland and Australia to the heart of Brisbane. For 140 years, the Ekka has been bringing the country and the city together to celebrate champion agriculture and the critical role it plays in our everyday lives.

For a prime viewing position of the beautiful lights head to one of the Eagle Street Pier restaurants or bars. Or if you would prefer to stake out a casual spot along the river bring along your own chair and picnic rug to Kangaroo Point or New Farm

I chose to walk up the steep road up towards Kangaroo point for this shot

It is the last tinge of orange captured before the sky went dark

Cheers,
Ral
