Photographer's Note

As some here are not satisfied by shots from middle european forests, here another one from Patagonia. ;-)

This one is again from PN Perito Moreno, right out of the gates of the campsite at Estancia La Oriental. When I crawled out of my sleeping bag, the sky was already on fire. I just managed to slip on my hicking boots, grab the tripod and camera bag. Shot this one hand held before tying up the bootlaces (after I nearly fell into a ditch stepping onto them) and fiddling with settings, tripod, polarizer. When I was ready 3 minutes later the light already has faded.

The image numbering tells me that this one was the first picture taken after this one from the previous day - a truly amazing place full of photographic opportunities. Other pictures from the same morning here and here.

Technical stuff: This is a combination of two RAW developments of the same frame, one for the foreground and one for the sky. The original was exposed for the sky which didn't need any significant pp treatment. Due to the relatively wide aperture (remember, hand held) the close foreground is not really sharp.
