On a visit to Lake Futalefu we were driving casually along a country road when this beautiful fox appeared - looking very healthy - this fine specimen of a creature with his lovely tail of soft fur stayed around long enough for me to take his picture.

Hi Dawn,

this fox is ideantic to the one I saw in Torres del Paine (Chile).
instead of being scared of you the fox remained staedy and posed like a model for you

You've captured this fox wonderfully. Beautiful colors and lighting with great detail to subject matter. Just a side note, I once had a fox try to get in my car when I was still in it while I had stopped to check him out. Kind of freaky to have one of this beautiful animals lose it's natural instinct to avoid humans.

Hi Dawn,
He is a beautiful example of his species, and its so pleasant to see him in his natural environemnt. Normally, when I see foxes, they are running across busy roads or going through bins to find food :)

You had a chance to take this fox by a camera, Dawn - that's not just a matter of good photography - rather you were in the right place on the right time: not common for a wild animal to pose for a photo like a common family dog...
He looks vicious. Well collected hid fur in variable colors.
