Photographer's Note

Floralis Generica is a metal sculpture made by Argentinian architect Eduardo Catalano in 2002. The large flower made of stainless steel with aluminum skeleton weighs 18 tons and is 23 meters high.

One of the characteristics of the flower is an electrical system that automatically opens and closes the petals, depending on the time of day. At night the flower closes and emanates from its interior a red glow, opening again in the morning. This same mechanism that opens the flower makes it close in the presence of strong winds.
