Photographer’s Note
Punta Arenas is the capital of the Magellanic and Antarctic Region and is the most prominent settlement on the Strait of Magellan. It has a population of around 150,000. Early English navigational documents referred to this location as Sandy Point - Punta Arenas is Spanish translation.
Photo was taken from Mirador Cerro la Cruz which offers nice view over the city and its multicolored roofs.
