It was designed and made by master Rodrigo Arenas Betancourt. It is a monument that has enormous courage and strong enough to become a symbol of the greatness and spirit of the great liberator of nations 5: Simón Bolívar.
In the artist's work, you can feel the authenticity and the creative genius of the master. The elements of the work: MAN - CONDOR - MASK, get together to display the contents and spiritual hero sublime, joining the body of the man who embodies the freedom bird that dominates the Andes, "Condor".
This book goes beyond the historical tradition or coldness static traditional monuments, was conducted among 1,985 to 1,986 years, is made in bronze and concrete and measured 18 metres high.
RODRIGO ARENAS BETANCOURT

Sculptor colombian born on October 23, 1919 in El Uvital, rural area of the town of Fredonia, Antioquia. He died in the year 1995. It is one of the most famous sculptors of Colombia and America. Many of his works are public monuments.
He was one of the most prolific artists colombians and appreciated nationally and internationally. His bronzes are characterized as being giants, melodramatic and spectacular; are found in cities across the length and breadth of the colombian geography.

The sculpture is very surreal, and you have captured it in excellent detail with the contrast emphasising its form. The radio mast spoils the image a bit; it's fairly monotone, which works well except for that. I'm sure you explored different viewpoints.

Hola John,
a pesar del día gris conseguiste un buen nivel en la exposición.
Esta escultura es impresionante, y le has sacado mucho partido con este contrapicado hacia el cielo, y con la inclusión en el encuadre de la arquitectura que la rodea, cuyas líneas fugando en una elegante perspectiva añaden mucho dinamismo a la imagen.
Me gusta, es una composición creativa y tiene fuerza gráfica.

Hola John,
Es una compo muy interesante, tanto por mostrar bien la obra del escultor, pero también por el grafismo producido por la estatua, su gran pedestal y los dos predios del fondo. No sé se la inclinación hace a izquierda es intencional, pero de echo parece acentuar el dramatismo que emana de la escultura, para lo que también contribuye el gris del cielo y del día. Quizás preferirá que hubiese mas detalles en las partes oscuras de la estatua.
