Monument To The Corporate Solidarity

Done in honor of civility and cooperation of the people of Cali.

It is an example of mutual support and optimism in which nobody was late, because all participants are tied to the thread of solidarity.

Located at Avenida Norte 3 with 34, was drafted in quartz and slate, materials imported from Italy and now replace the bronze for its economy.

Its cost was $ 160 million pesos (U.S. $ 70,000) and the play was designed and made by the sculptor of Cartagena, Hector Lombana Piñeros, inaugurated on March 24, 1995.

The work was donated by the Iberoamerican Association of Chambers of Commerce during the annual assembly of the entity, who by tradition is giving away a play to the host city for the event.

This night take has really a very personal merit. I made many shots from a distant plane, which does not give me the expected result (the low light, distance and motion of the water to run, the picture deteriorated), thus surpassing the protocols and approaches, in which the watchman the place gave me permission, and I approached from a broader level and close, make lots of pictures, tested in several configurations, and then on the computer select the best of all.

Hola amigo John,
estas tomas nocturnas con el cielo totalmente negro no son fáciles, pero creo que has escogido un encuadre muy bueno y has situado este monumento de forma que se destaca con sus tonos dorados y sus surtidores de agua sobre la oscuridad de la noche.
Oro sobre negro, fantástico.

An excellent exposure to create such a sharp and beautifully finished picture. The detail is marvellous. And the shutter speed was sufficient to show the water quite sharply. The golden sculpture looks great against that pitch black background. Well done. Interesting note, too.

hello John,
at first I found the title a little amusing, given the usual negative connotations of the word "corporate" in the US and Europe. but I see that here the term is used in completely different meaning, so thank you for reminding about the positive content of the word as well :)
I definitely like the photo, the statue looks like pure gold against the black of the night. I think that of taken during the day the shot would not be this powerful, smart idea to wait for the darkness.

Hola John,

Mirando tu galería, nos quedamos con la sensación que las ciudades colombianas están llenas de bellos trabajos de escultura de aire libre.

Es una obra muy bonita a la vista y por su significado, era bueno que esa solidaridad se verificara en realidad, no solo entre las empresas,pero también entre ellas y sus empleados y la sociedad en general.

La calidad técnica de la foto es notable, especialmente para un tema nocturno. Bravo!
