Photographer’s Note

Another mysterious site, not much is known about the natives but the statues are 2000 to 1000 years old and it's believed that the civilization ended as Incas conquered the area.

Fascinating topic. But the colors are a bit off (on my screen) and it is unfortunate that someone left a bag in front of the statue at the bottom.

I have to agree with the previous post. the colours really do seem odd.....maybe your post-processing job went so so. I was in this site last summer as well and the colours really were very different. Also i dont agree with your title i didn't find the statues menacing at all....most of them were smiling, albeit with large teeth.... and i thought the babies might have been upside down because they were just born.
anyway it really is a beautiful place.
