The Airbus A330 (Air France), registered F-GZCP off Rio de Janeiro on May 31 at 19:03 pm local time (12:03 am on June 1 in Paris and Madrid) and was expected to arrive in Paris - Charles de Gaulle at 11:10 (local time in France and Spain).
The plane left the radar to 01:33 UTC. The last contact with the aircraft was four hours after takeoff, at 02:14 UTC, when an automated message indicated a short circuit and an electrical system failure.

very good photo - excellent POV with the aircraft high in the sky as juxtaposed to this sculpture... unreachable aircraft...

Hello John.
Apart from being a sensitive memorial to the dead and their loved ones, this is a very fine photo. Well timed to catch the plane in the opposite corner to the sculpted human face. Great angle of view and superb sharpness. I have been following all the reports of the catastrophe with great interest and sadness. I often think of such things, as I do quite a lot of flying. It can happen to any of us; but life goes on.

Escogiste muy bien la foto para homenajear las victimas de ese fatídico accidente. Un buitre con piernas de hombre con una ala rota... Prestes a empezar a volar...

Hola amigo,
La vida cada día nos demuestra los frágiles que somos, a la vuelta de la esquina podemos encontrar la desgracia y parece que muchas veces no somos conscientes de ello, es horrible cuando pasan estas cosas, cada vez más frecuentes, cada vez más dolorosas, espero que sea la última.
