Photographer’s Note
Nestled in a fairly remote area is the sleepy fishing village of Taganga not too far from Santa Marta. Here one finds a laid back way of life, local and foreign visitors alike. In the small crescent shaped beach one finds the fishing boats which is a small part are the life blood of this village outside of tourism. This image is as much a capture of these colorful boats as well as it is of the three gulls on the mast, two with their wings spread to catch the sea breeze and the third looking skyward as if in search of something.
