Photographer’s Note
Some will say...oh no!!! another boring sunset... Nothing new and original, definitely not an HCB photo, not even worthy to look at...
But anyway I share this with you, yes another sunset. I captured it very dark. I like it that way. I waited till the sun was well hidden behind Cerro Patiño. (Patiño hill).
What made me post this one? Simply because after TOO many postings sometimes I have the impression we have lost the goal of Trekearth which is : Learning about the world through photography...
I have the impression that we have lost the sense of admiration. Admiration to the beauty of our dear earth.
We have surrended to the desire to achieve the ultimate photography, the ultimate originality and this strong desire made us forget what is the original goal of trekearth.
Patiño is a hill next to Ypacarai lake, very famous and very romantic. It has been named in songs and is a nice place to be.
There is a tower at the top of the hill. This association hill-towers is well known worldwide and has changed the face of our landscapes in almost every country of the world.
K.
This is my first posting taken with the EOS 350 DIgital XT.
Very nice machine, very fast and with new features.
Still learning...

Hi Kike,
I like these dark tones as well. They create some special, maybe even more natural feeling to it.
I was touched by your note as well - what a good point and written in a right moment, when there are so many photos being uploaded and there's less chance to see them all (and I believe there are some really good ones out there that represent the original goal of TE!).
Many thanks,
Robi

The underexposure is very appropriate for this moody sunset shot. I like the colors. Very good picture.

This is lovely Cesar, with wonderful colors and fine detail. I guess your XT works... Congratulations on your new camera! This photography thing seems to take on a life of its own and new equipment keeps arriving... ;-) The XT seems to be a remarkable camera. It is a fine choice. I'm afraid the next camera in my life will have to wait for awhile. I spent all my discretionary funds on lenses...
And I agree with your note as well Cesar. Keep sharing with us the beauty and uniqueness of the world in which you live. I promise to do the same...

Excelent sunset capture with a low light condition. Lovely scenery and a simphony of red, orange, water reflections and shadows.
Excelent work and very well done!

Hi Cesar! For me this is a favourite one, so I'll put it on mine. I really like this fantastic contrast between the dark and the sun, as well as the silhouettes and the light on the water surface. Very good work!

I looked at the other photo's and the sunset caught my eye immediately. I have a thing for the sun. Even though it is quite dark you created a special atmosphere. the sky looks painted. If you look at the water long enough it will start moving. It is an amazing sunset.

I really agree with your comment. Even as a new member of TE, I try to go for THE picture. Let's go back to basics.
And very nice sunset by the way.
