Photographer’s Note
The strongest sensations of Paraguay are its very red soil, the colors below shining on an overcast day, the green houses, all of them with a tungstein lamp in the front door and, above all, its marvelous, kind and smiling people.
Despite being a very poor country, I didn´t see people begging in the streets but selling their handcrafts, their food, their products.
For those who are arriving to my images now, this one is part of a series made by TE members Rinie, Kike and I in Brasil and Paraguay, the first TE International Meeting in South America. Next sunday we´re planning another hunt in São Paulo, and I hope more photographers will join it :)
thanks for your support and interest.
hope you like it.
pp: cropped the top, saturated a bit, resized.
hope you like it :)

You're still attached to perspective shots that would be totally meaningless without a human element, Isabelle. With a wall for sole horizon, a tiny stripe of grass bordering deep red earth spotted with water puddles, I wonder how these kids perceive their environement. The one you compose, at least...
The only thing I would object to is the brown triangle in the lower right corner.
A bit of the road you stand on, I guess. As if you also wanted to show there's both a way in and a way out... Or just a way to witness from a distance, without interfering.
Ambivalence of the role of the photographer.
Ambivalence of the shot.
Well, I'm not in a very cheerful state of mind, too. So I keep wondering (and wandering too, but that's another matter)...
Keep shoting pictures, Isabel. Please... *o)

scents from my country Isabelle
I can almost smell the humid earth from the picture
I like the image, as usual here, all boys pretending to be adults...they always use daddy`s bike, even though they can hardly fit into the big frame of the bike itself
I see you have cropped here, I wonder why
mu dearest regards Isabel, I am a bit absent now, I travel now, for the time being

Terrific shot, Isabel! Excellent use of perspective and depth. I love the motion blur. THe color is awesome. I wish I could go see the red vista...
Would you like to crop the top wall away and see if you still like it?
Regards,
Animesh

A lot of Isabel trademarks here. The couple with bike top left obviously makes the shot, but I also like the colours and texture of the soil.
BTW, what camera are you using, did you reslove your broken Canon problem?

Wow Isabel, what a colors! and what a composition, and... what an eye you have for great moments. The lines and the patterns are so great, but the children are the cherries, I like how he is riding his far too big bicycle, and the way she stays by his side, or the other way around. It looks as if they are chatting and having a good time, a sort of comradery feeling.
Was this from the bus, while driving?
See you soon ;-) Wow, that feels great to be able to say that, quite different than writing a critique from the Netherlands, makes me smile!

This big empty space houses a lot of feelings, both a toch of nostalgic childhood memories and a frightening emptiness, freedom of open space and jailhose-like walls. A rich and interesting photo, and beautiful too, with the red earth tones, the long flowing lines in the middle contrasted by the vertical walls. I like it - a lot!

Hi ISabel,
I really like the colours in this one as well as the two lonesome figures in the corner of the photo. I would have cropped a bit the lower right. It is nice to see the Trekearth people geting together inspite of the big distances. I may go to the switzerland meeting (8 hours train ride)
Hasta pronto

Hola Isabel: I´ve just discovered this one. I love this red soil. I love the kind of blur that gives the image a magic touch.
