Llanganuco Lake #1, a photo from Ancash, Nord

Photographer's Note

The Llanganuco Lake (3865 m above sea level) is about 2.5 hours by car from Huaraz. Shortly before the lake there is a control booth of the Huascaran National Park. The lake is spectacularly located inside the park in a glacial vally embedded by the steep walls of the highest mountains of Peru. The lake is surrounded by rare polylepis trees with the lake's turquoise water a result of glacial silt, glow in the midday sun.

Hello Zbigniew,
Although this lake is situated at a very high altitude and the surrounding mountains are of course still a lot higher, there isn't much snow of ice. I suppose this is because of its location not to far from the equator.
Even under the clouded sky we can admire the beautiful colours of the water.
I also like the greenery on the lakeshore on the foreground and the framing with the overhanging branch on top.
Excellently composed.

Beautiful mountain landscape with the unspoiked shores leading to this lovely mountainside.

I learnt something & about some new place today....Impressive lake surrounded by the high mountains. Especially like the branch of the tree extending across the frame. The hint of turquoise in the water is appealing even under the cloudy sky. Very nice!

If you are not, you're quite a talented "natural artist"; the subtle framing at foreground circles beautifully the perfect depiction of this pastoral beauty impregnated of much serenity!
