Jour 7 au Pérou, en descendant du col de Abrassan (4104m) vers le pueblo (village) de Yanama (3545m), on se rend compte à quel point au Pérou TOUT espace "plat" disponible est utilisé en pâturage: ça n'implique aucune notion horizontale... C'est bien là un troupeau de moutons qui se promènent en broutant dans leur champ pour le moins incliné. Dans les andes, les Queshua habitent ces terres depuis tant de siècles qu'ils se sont étendus sur toute surface propice, peu importe le niveau de vertige. Les pâturages sont donc plus communs que les champs cultivés, et leur habitude des terraces d'agriculture se comprend quand on voit leur monde incliné.
Pas évident d'éviter la surexposition, avec le plein soleil du soir qui innondait le ciel empli d'humidité, mais la prise de vue en valait la peine ;)

Day 7 in Peru, descending from Abrassam Pass (4104m) to the pueblo (village) of Yanama (3545m), we can readily see that in Peru every "flat" space avaialble is used as a pasture: it does not imply any kind of horizontality... Right here is a sheep herd grazing their field that's pretty much sloped. In the Andes, the Queshua people have lived there for so many centuries that they inhabit every available and suitable area, no matter the vertigo. Pastures are therefore more common than cultivated fields, and agricultural terraces have evolved out of necessity in their sloped world.
It was'nt easy to avoid overexposing this shot, with the full evening sun flooding the humid air, but the point of view was definitely worth it ;)

Wonder if these sheep have two legs longer on one side.
Great shot, says a lot about where you are. I like the sun flare, makes for a wonderful late afternoon atmosphere.

Bruno,
Not your best shot but it depicts and provide an impression what you're trying to convey to the viewers in the story. The light is not working with you, otherwise, I'm sure it would have been a lovely nature shot of the valley and of peaks and valleys. The sheep provide livliness and indecation of human inhabitation. Thanks. One smile for the image and one for the story and effort. Thanks for your time.

Hi Bruno,
Beautiful moment with the sheep on steep slope and direct backlight. I think this one has potential with different framing. I suggest cropping most of the sky off and make a square frame with that slope going roughly corner to corner.

oui,la surexposition était surement inévitable,mais la lumière sur le paturage est magnifique,dorée à souhait!Et puis,si le ciel est trop blanc,on l'oublie vite grâce aux féériques rayons de soleil colorés qui sont du plus bel effet!
