[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
This photo was taken from the top of Waynu Picchu, the mountain behind Machu Picchu. Feburary is the rainy season in Peru. The goverment shuts down the Inca Trail during this time due to clean up and preservation from mud slides. When I finally climbed atop this mountain to get a good view of the Machu Picchu, most of my view was blocked by thick rolling clouds. Not long after, a thunderstorm came through. Now I know why they call it the "Rainy Season." While I didn't take too many good photos of Machu Picchu, I did manage to snap a picture of this exacvation not far from the top of the mountain. I really like the layers the clouds add to the photo. You can see the stairs leading up to the mountain near the top corner of the photo. I know the zoom doesn't give you a good idea of how high up I was, but trust me, it's high. :)

I guess there really is a silver lining to every cloud.

Beautiful survey, with splendid colors, saturation and cool contrast. Congratulations

Sensational picture, Mark. I believe you that's high. Nice colours and contrast. A pity the background is a bit overexposed. I understand you're glad you could even make this pic. Great job!

I like this photograph Mark. The nature and colours are pleasent and the light and clouds gives a special mood. But what I really like is the beautiful gray stonewalls partly covered by green contrasting to the bluedressed men, especially the helmets stands out.

I thought those blue things were flowers! Very attractive compo!

great light, but the foreground looks almost a little over underexposed and the background overexposed. you should meter the shot for the subject, which in this shot is the guys in blue.

otherwise great framing and perspective.
