Photographer’s Note
In the heart of the largest rainforest on Earth, an Oasis of life, light and inspiration. I am home now, but every night I still dream of the Amazon, the greatest and most threatened ecosystem in the world...
This is the magnificent Canaima National Park in Venezuela, one of the largest national parks on earth, covering 30,000 square km and a crown jewel in the UNESCO list of world heritage sites.
Thanks in advance for any critiques,
-Mike

The red color in the water is due to tannins that leech into the river from the jungle.

Salut Michael,
Cette photo est absolument magnifique, les trois palmiers en contre-jour donnent de la profondeur et les couleurs sont fort belles. Bravo. Amitié, Patty.

Hello Micahel,
Won-der-ful!!! The insanely wide depth of focus and pleasantly long exposure is spot on! Nothing more to say then that this is just a little gem. And as such it directly goes to my theme 'Landscapes with WOW', since this is really, really WOW.
Hope you're going to do more UNESCO heritage landscapes ;-).
Greetings,

Hi Michael,
Another fantastic, almost surreal picture – who wouldn’t dream of a place like this on returning home? I love the way those three palm trees stand like guardians by the falls, but most of all the incredible sheen and colour of the water, perfectly complemented by that glowing sky.
Stunning photography!

It is such an amazing, such a beautiful place that I could look at it for hours. The colour tones are great and the long exposure made the scene look even more magical. Congrats.

Nice contrast between the serenity of the overall picture and the tourments of the falls

I must comment this one too.
This almost monochromatic light is fantastic.
The trhee palms coming out of the water make the landscape somehow unreal.

Hi Michael,
I've just discovered your gallery, the photos there are truly impressive and this one is no exception. I guess that medium-format played its significant role in providing such vibrant colors and smooth semitone transitions. Your choice of such a slow shutter speed made the water, and perhaps even the whole photo, look a bit like a CG scene, but I like the effect. This is a wonderful photo, and it's a pity we can't view it at 100%, although even such a small crop creates really positive feelings.
Regards,
Anton

A simple composition, only the palm trees in evidence, very well taken. You can alway get a special colour to your photos. Nice cooperation from the sky ;-)
