Extreme Danger
Danger of Death in Breaking Seas
Pier Closed when Red Ball is raised

Access to the pier is at own risk

The beach at Porthleven is separated from the harbour by this granite pier.
The harbour faces south west into the prevailing winds and consequently the harbour construction and sea walls are massive.
During winter storms, people visit the town to watch the waves crashing over the sea defences.
A little later I did see a person standing right at the end of the pier, rather foolish, I thought.

See the workshop for an alternative viewpoint.

Other views of Porthleven are "From the other side", "Low Tide" and "Still Standing".

Thanks for looking.
