Papagolfade + Adoresada Photo

Photographer’s Note

Like Vinicius de Moraes, that great Brazilian poet wrote, "porque hoje é sábado, amanhã é domingo" ("because today is Saturday and tomorow is Sunday") and Sunday is Papagolfade day, I am posting an Adoresada. Don't you know what is an Adoresada? Go see the this theme and check who owns it! :D

This is a little country church that stands on the top of a hill with superb views, a few Kms North of the little town of Nisa. It is dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Graça (Our Lady of Grace), the patron saint of the parish. The place is where many people of the region gather to celebrate the Easter Monday, a popular tradition in many places of Alentejo.

According to a legend that I found in a local newspaper of the 1880's when I fancied myself a serious historian at high school :D, the ancient town of Nisa was found here by Dionysos Bacchus, some hundreds years AC. I suspected that the person who wrote the article didn't know much about Greek mythology, because he didn't mention anything about such name being the union of the two names of the Greek god of wine. According to the same article, my birth town, Portalegre, was also founded by that figure some years before or after (the exact years were mentioned in the articles [!]).

Although I haven't yet found anything about it in any reliable writing and I found strange that no archaeologist made any excavations, I admit that maybe there is some true in another thing that is said about the place: that it was where Nisa stood until the 13th century, when it was completely devastated.

Esta papagolfada em adoresada está simplesmente fascinante! Que beleza que ficou esta vista parcial da igreja, com uma qualidade estupenda! O branco impecável das igrejas portuguesas me impressiona! Estão constantemente a retocá-las? Ou aí não chove? Lindo, lindo! Emoldurada de ouro sobre azul. Tá de babar mesmo. E ainda mais com esta do Vinícius, aí é covardia ;-) A gente fica até sem jeito de postar alguma outra papagolfada no domingo ;-) Os Workshops estão magníficos também!
Tá aí um caso em que lamento ter desabilitado meus pontos... mas, pensando bem, 2 seria pouco demais ;-)

Bonjour José,
une très belle papagolfade haute en couleurs et en contrastes, le bleu du ciel fait bien tout ressortir.
Je suis un peu plus réservé sur le cadrage.

haha, muito bem, José. Já é tempo de baptisar e divulgar a nossa melhor fotógrafa de papagolfadas, sendo injusto que seja só o Philippe que esteja ligado às igrejas, pois até há muito pessoal que se dedica exaustivamente a postá-las. O conjunto de 3 fotos mostra bem esta igreja, ou melhor, esta fachada ;-) de diversos ângulos, sendo que esta mais aproximada é de facto a imagem mais atraente. O contraste com o azul forte do céu é irresistível fazendo com que as cruzes e demais detalhes de pedra não passem desapercebidos, se bem que é o amarelo da fachada que faz a melhor combinação de cor com o céu. As tuas notas surpreendem-me sempre pelo trabalho de investigação que se nota por trás.
Eu ainda não sei o que vou postar...

Bien sur, j'ai de suite pensé à Ana en regardant cette photo mais par contre je n'avais pas vu son thème ;)
Le ciel bleu un peu assombri par l'effet du polarizer fait une belle toile de fond sur laquelle se détachent bien les lignes architecturales soulignées par la couleur ocre.

I see the tradition of Sunday Papagolfades has moved from France to Portugal. I just visited Ricardo's contribution to the theme. I like all three images but my favourite is WS1. I love how the steps lead the eye upwards to the church. The traditional yellow and white decor of Portugal's churches is very striking, particularly set against teh "traditional" strong blue sky.

El acercamiento destaca las bellas tonalidades de la capilla, frente a ese cielo azul intenso y libre de nubes.

Des couleurs ici qui font vraiment du bien pour le moral car sur Versailles depuis plusieurs jours les temps sont gris... Une vue rapprochée sur cette église appréciable pour les détails mais je dois avouer que je préfère ta photo en WS du bas de l'escalier qui donne plus de volume à l'ensemble et qui est beaucoup plus contrastée au niveau couleurs. De toute façon ce sont 3 photos intéressantes sur le patrimoine portuguais, merci José.

No conocía esta tradición de exponer en TE una foto con una iglesia todos los Domingos.
Muy linda iglesia y la has captado con gran luz y vivos colores, me gusta además el campanario a su lado y los buenos detalles. Tus dos WS están estupendos.

Gostei do titulo da foto :), o contraste de cores da foto ficou lindo entre o amarelo e o azul , gostei muito dos detalhes desta igreja especialmente as telhas pintadas de branco na ponta deu um a belo efeito grafico , parabéns!!
