Goa's main staple, rice is grown in paddy fields across large areas.
Two different crops are planted...
The monsoon ones are called the kharif crops and the winter ones, the rabi crops.
Here the farmer is ploughing the fields to prepare it for the Rabi cultivations.
The main source of irrigation during the dry season are the water stored in reservoirs and ponds, the rivers, streams...
